Gigola

Country: France, Language: French, 102 mins

  • Director: Laure Charpentier
  • Writer: Laure Charpentier

CGiii Comment

Charpentier is not, by a long shot, a director of distinction...

$14 million spent on a non-undressing, lesbian hooker-cum-pimp with a penchant for the older ladies...money mis-spent on style and none on substance.

Drama, comedy, musical, farce...take your pick, it's all and none of these...and, with a central performance that is colder than a witch's tit, Gigola will leave you empty because Charpentier wrote the book and presumes the audience has read it...which you would have to...to understand what the hell is going on half the time...silly choices, strange decisions by director and character alike.
