CGiii Comment

Oscar-winning Marshall (for Chicago) attempts something and, unfortunately, fails - spectacularly.

What he was attempting isn't too clear: huge budget, fine actors, a musical re-make of Fellini's 8.5?!?

It was big on Broadway...and on-screen, it's an unengaging, fragmented bore.

All the music numbers are too similar to other productions - it may be an homage to Cabaret and Fosse...but, it just reeks of unoriginal re-hashing.

Not good enough and, deservedly, a box office flop.

Memorable for all the wrong reasons - talent and the budget scandalously squandered!
