Evening falls over a mysterious, disorienting Paris, drenched in the red glow of neon lights. Construction worker Otello, played by Philippe Berson, moves from a chaotic building site to his small tailor’s shop, eventually making his way to a dilapidated nightclub. There, he meets his friend Bernardino Femminielli, dresses him, and carefully prepares him for one of his provocative variety performances.
The Eldorado club is a Lynchian, gloomy yet mesmerizing place: a paradise in decay, populated by elusive presences, ambiguous and dreamlike figures. Through disorienting situations, suspended between beauty and squalor, Anton Bialas evokes a present in dissolution, a world governed by incomprehensible logics and corruption, destined to implode. Faced with the tragedy of the end, the melancholy and off-kilter protagonists are left with nothing but a plate of soft oysters, a moving song, and one last game of seduction.
