CGiii Comment

World famous Korean artist Chong Gon Byun collects found objects to use them in a surrealist way in order to challenge the post-industrial society where they are produced. Objects of any kind: toys, dummies, clocks, instruments, hats, glasses, masks, lamps and so on, that he keeps in his studio, offering thus an atlas of everything that our civilization creates and throws away. Marie Losier conducts a visual exploration of the artist’s world, filming the objects collected by Chong Gon Byun. She offers thus a sort of inventory of his work. The frantic editing and the shaky camera effects do nothing but mirroring the consumerist urge on which our relationship with objects is based.
