For a low-budget prison drama...it's not that bad - apart from some dodgy acting and weak dialogue.

It's the gay storyline that makes this stand out...it's all right to be gay in prison - but, not on the outside!

Still, the gay relationship is handled with a surprising amount of sensitivity.

Filmed in the Clare Valley, Gladstone and the Flinders Ranges in South Australia, this prison movie was inspired by the true life prison riot at Bathurst Jail in 1974 and its subsequent Royal Commission into New South Wales Prisons.
