Country: Germany, 82 mins

Original Title

Wenn nichts mehr geht dann Gran Canaria
  • Director: Tim Lienhard

CGiii Comment

Grotesquely sexualized is his drag look. At 64, the filmmaker describes his sexual self-development in his autofictional film essay. From Catholic origin in southern Germany, he has found his way to a provocatively performative drag, as he partys with predominantly young men. The journey in the film goes from Berlin to Gran Canaria via a porn festival in Torremolinos. On the Costa del Sol, Tim Lienhard compares himself to young onlyfans creators, in Gran Canaria with Pride tourists of the same age. Age, identity, sexuality and self-esteem are the leitmotifs of this dazzling documentary, which impresses with shameless openness and is a plea for freedom in regressive times.
