Alignment Problem (The)

A male and a female voice, a teacher and a student: a conversation with ambiguous coordinates that quickly becomes a dialectical duel aimed at aligning human morality with that of the machine.

This experimental short illustrates the training process of an AI. The question arises as to who is in charge and what value language plays in the processes of mutual recognition and identity validation. AI programming processes are shaped by the personal experiences of the programmer behind the machine, and they are therefore not neutral but informed by the emotional logic underlying the human. A movie that questions our relationship with the tool and its potential manipulations, and the increasingly blurred line between us and an AI that acquires our identity traits.
