The(ir) Blurb...

Surfacing conrtrasts the very different ways in which three young gay men come out in their suburban landscapes. One finds overwhelming support from his friends and family while another confronts the prejudice of both kids at school and his religious mother. Using a slow driving rhythm, the effective stories of these two boys are interwoven like a conversation, contrasted by a third experience, written in text, which illustrates the emotions of being silent and hidden while gowing up gay. The three-way conversation speaks honestly about the very difficult issues of being young and gay. An excellent discussion starter.
