CGiii Comment

The story of David Wojnarowicz...who?

Product of an abusive home, hustler, died of AIDS and did some angry arty things that no-one has heard of...

And that's the point, no-one cares and no-one cares by the end of this disjointed film - a shame...because, there are some damn fine performances to be found - and, the cinematography is really rather good - in places.

The subject lets it down.

The(ir) Blurb...

An impressive first feature from Brit McLean, Postcards from America is based on the autobiography of gay rights campaigner and artist David Wojnarowicz. An episodic and stylized account of his life, it starts with the inevitable intolerance he met with during his childhood in New Jersey. Attempting to make sense of his sexuality, he eventually finds his identity working for the gay community before tragically dying of AIDS.
