CGiii Comment

The misogyny of the characters is matched only by the misandry by the filmmaker...

For a crime/mystery, the pace is slooow. Too slow and littered with inconsequence - the women's commune, led by a completely unintelligible Holly Hunter...what was the point other than introducing a few batty characters - all in the name of misandric feminism!!!

Co-written by Oscar-winning Campion (The Piano) & long-time collaborator Gerard Lee...the dialogue is, at best, erratic and almost wholly artificial.

The acting is a haphazard affair...either understated or heavy-handed (Mullan as per usual) or downright incompetent.

It is tough work to get to the end...with some prudent (and necessary) editing, this could have been pruned to an acceptable hour and a half.

This may prove that television is not the medium for Ms Campion's talents...

What do we know...there's going to be a second series...can't wait!
