The(ir) Blurb...

Pride focuses on the literal sense of the word and goes against today's modern connotation. It plays to the theme of duality, that pride can nourish your confidence, but also your ego. This theme resonates throughout the entire action of season 1. You will find the characters begin in one temperament and throughout the journey will falter. This show is based around relationships and visually makes the statement that people change in how our characters interact; however the drama is most reminiscent of classic cinematic storylines of sex, drugs, and violence to draw the audience into this stylized world. The concept is to lessen the importance of being 'gay' and normalize the imagery of two people of the same sex being intimate. This show draws upon classic dramaturgy and reinterprets it for a modern film audience. It follows our protagonist, Kai Williams, who is a young everyman trying to live a 'normal' life. He falls for the bad boy and gets his heart torn to pieces.
