CGiii Comment

All we can say is...Josh Thomas, let's hope you are acting...because, Nicholas is more irritating than dermatitis.

In the same vein as Please Like Me...the 'joke' has worn thin, so much so...it's practically invisible. Awkward gay geek [who always seems to bed dashing young men!] being intolerably awkward...the cringe-factor is off-the-scale.

It's difficult to identify the intended audience...this man-child is too old for the YAs and too young for the more well-seasoned...leaving just an awkward audience of indeterminate age!

Sadly, in the first episode, Everything's Gonna Be Okay crosses the annoyance threshold in a matter of mere minutes...it's such an uncomfortable watch. Now, if that 'uncomfortableness' was challenging and controversial...then, fine. But...this is overly wholesome, saccharine-infused risk-nudging rather than a poke in the ribs with a sharp stick...the unfortunate result is that the [overbearing] propensity to preach upstages the potential to enlight!

To get through all 10 episodes will require a hefty dose of stoic masochism...and, a rather large jar of love-it-or-hare-it Vegemite!

The(ir) Blurb...

Centers on Nicholas (Josh Thomas), a typical 25-year-old still living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, who is not particularly helpful in raising his siblings, one of which has autism. However, when their dad becomes terminally ill, the girls have to cope with not only a devastating loss but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to hold it all together.
