CGiii Comment

In 1974, the film pioneer, Carole Roussopoulos, and movie star, Delphine Seyrig, joined forces to challenge the ‘male gaze’ that utterly dominated the flm industry. Together they founded a video collective and the film archive Centre audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir. (The equivalent in Hamburg is bildwechsel.). In the context of #metoo and #proquote, this humorous portrait of their work – including rare archive material and footage of Chantal Ackerman, Marguerite Duras and Simone de Beauvoir – is as relevant and subversive as ever.
