Unfortunately sexual diversity is still a taboo in the Surinamese community. Not only in Suriname, but also LGBTs of Surinamese origin in the Netherlands are facing problems with the acceptance of their sexualorientation. In this documentary LGBTs living in Suriname and Surinamese LGBTs living in the Netherlands are sharing their personal stories about the difficulties they experience because of their sexuality. The documentary takes viewers back forty years ago to the independence of Suriname and the situation of LGBTs then and now.
