CGiii Comment

Hong Kong director Scud’s latest and final film, NAKED NATIONS – TRIBE HONG KONG is a culmination of his cinematic trademarks – brimming with nude male bodies and erotic imagery. Set during the pandemic’s standstill in Hong Kong, the film pays homage to Scud’s previous works by featuring actors from his earlier movies, making this a poignant farewell to his filmmaking career. Adding to the meta-narrative, the movie includes a cameo of renowned director Stanley Kwan, as well as a memorable appearance by Scud himself in his birthday suit. His fearless exploration of Asian male nudity on screen over the decades is evident, showcasing his unique vision and creative legacy.
