A vast improvement on how Japanese directors usually treat this subject matter.
Instead of the erratic campness, there is a moodiness bordering on the suicidal - well, extremes are fashionable.
But...this is a step in the right direction.
So, well done - but, to watch it again would be a fate worse than death.
The subtitles also include information on Japanese etiquette - how interesting.
