CGiii Comment

Goiás is one of the most conservative states in Brazil, yet the punk movement resists. The underground movement in Goiânia is very strong and resilient despite the hegemony of the country genre, and it consistently promotes music and cultural events. However, when analyzing this movement closely, one notices something even more interesting: a large presence of trans people, mainly non-binary, who are reclaiming these spaces. The documentary "Goiânia's Punk: Trans Voices" seeks to map this community and question whether punk is really as open to these people as it claims to be.
