CGiii Comment

Kieran McCullay is HIV positive. It's been months since he found out, and he hasn't found the courage to tell anyone other than a ridiculously handsome social worker. Even his best friend, Allie, doesn't know about his HIV status. Kieran has a good heart, but his status is starting to isolate him from the most important people in his life. How long can he keep this secret? Forever? Or will he reach a breaking point? These are just some of the questions posed by the pilot episode of Unsure/Positive. Titled 'Some Weird Rock Hudson Type of Shit,' and intended as the first chapter in a series about an HIV positive protagonist-- something that hasn't really been seen on the small screen. On the big screen, HIV positive protagonists usually die at the end. Writer/Director Christian Kiley, who is also living with HIV, wanted to make a series about an HIV positive person who doesn't die at the end. Like so many other people living with HIV today, Kieran's life will go on.
