Unable to move forward past the loss of his lover, a gifted painter drowns in his grief as he struggles to conquer life and death. Caught in a depressive cycle and unable to move forward, Lucas drinks, smokes, and paints to cope, but eventually turns once again to combining science and magic to bring his love back to him.
