CGiii Comment

The film follows 3 teens in transition over 5 years, with differing outcomes, as they try and puzzle out gender in a country of extremes. It’s real labour of love, made by the parents of one of the young people – our dear friends Julio Matos and Coraci Ruiz – about the experience of having a trans child. They made the decision to lean in to the experience and seek to “get closer and understand”. The arrival of Jair Bolsinaro as President in the middle of things gives the story an urgency and also an historical context.
