CGiii Comment

It is a little more palatable than their previous offering, O Fantasma.

It is a cruel film. The same theme is explored, obsession - this time it's a woman obsessing over a dead gay man.

She may have a bad case of pseudosiesis (false imagined hysterical pregnancy) - and the dead gay man is the father.

Yes, it is a little contrived but, prepare yourselves: it gets a whole lot worse.

Manipulative, annoying (especially the Odete character) and sick.

It is difficult to give psychological disorders any sympathy when they are presented like this.

The ending is absolutely vile - confirming that Rodrigues & Rebelo are either of sick minds and/or disturbed & funny.

Not a pleasant film...but, an interesting one.

The(ir) Blurb...

Pedro and Rui kiss after a first-anniversary dinner; Pedro drives home, dying en route in a crash. Another pair of lovers, Odete and Alberto, split over her desire to have a child. Pedro lived in Odete's building. She attends the wake, stealing a ring, a last gift from Rui, from Pedro's finger. She behaves hysterically at the graveside, and later, wearing Pedro's ring, she insists she's carrying Pedro's child. Rui grieves as well, drinking too much and seeing Pedro's apparition. Odete's obsession intrudes on Rui, whose grief makes him vulnerable to her hysteria. Can this end well?
