CGiii Comment

Big ideas on a meagre budget...

4 stories, 4 phases of the moon, the 4 ages of man...

The weakest link is the 30-something couple...too heavy-handed, too soap opera-ish. But, the other 3 will evoke the whole gamut of emotion...from the life of denial to the beginning of discovery to the peaks and troughs of first love.

It's all so familiar...all that awkward fumbling...in the bedroom, in the mind...with the rest of the world.

Velarde manages to avoid those 'oh no we're not going there' moments - although there are a few near misses...playful skill or damned good luck? Either way, he has produced an admirable little film on a tiny that has a huge heart at its core.
