CGiii Comment

A Neo-Nazi, alcoholic father, his impressionable son...and, their friend, strangely named Quattro Formaggi - with learning difficulties...and, suffering from mental illness.

Unpleasant...to say the least.

The racism and homophobia is, as always, ever-worringly.

Quattro's sexual frustrations are a case in point for the whole care-in-the-community debate...

Good performances all round, especially from the young lead - however, the social worker...ridiculously aggressive and over-played.

It's cultural...but, clapping at a funeral is weird.

Despite the flaws - the social worker - there is an incredible story here...directed with a muted relish...displaying craft.

...and when Antony Hegarty sings...well, just watch it.

Impressive.
