CGiii Comment

By cutting - at least - 40 minutes...a credible film could have been salvaged from this sprawling diatribe.

The version we saw was bizarre...weird, high-pitched dubbed voices coming from masculine mouths...unintentionally hilarious!

Rituparno Ghosh is a one-man bad and curator of the trans genre in India...the international audience are mightily more difficult to please.

Less rambling, more energy and a tight focus on the important strands of the story...then, 2 hours will not drag by...as is the case here.

The(ir) Blurb...

The movie is about a Delhi base trans gender documentary filmmaker Abhiroop Sen and his bisexual lover cinematographer. They wanted to make a documentary on the life of famous "Jatra" actor "Chapal Bhaduri" But doing so Sen recognized that his life resemble Chapal's life. The movie revolves around the trauma, the pressure,the setbacks, heartache and several situations faced by trans gender.
