Butch homage to femme lesbians Fem is an experimental short exploring queer lesbian femininity from a butch point of view and challenges femme invisibility in lesbian imagery. The film is lyrical and poetic containing images of femininity from ancient mythology and popular cinematic culture. Fem uses these dominant images and subverts them with a voice over butch narration. Fem creates a 'butch gaze' while validating femmes' role in a lesbian culture which would rather she remained invisible and silent.
