CGiii Comment

This will challenge the most liberal-minded...

Homosexual hedonism and one giant step downwards on the evolutionary ladder...

The irresponsibility on show is not only jaw-dropping...but, mind-numbing. You'd be hard-pressed to find any sympathy for these self-centred, pleasure-seeking, cock-greedy sleazebags...who merrily transfer HIV without the blink of an eye...all in the name of finding the perfect fuck!

God-bless the NHS...and all who work for her. This creaking institution is being abused, needlessly by these attention-seeking little shits...the HIV dissident talks bollocks, the gay sauna owner talks bollocks...this film has alot of bollocks!

David Stuart - 56 Dean Street Counsellor - has the patience of a saint...but, it's time to take off the kitten gloves...this lily-livered approach to the problem does not help. This is self-medicated, consensual excess...deadly sins are named so...for a reason!

Take a step backwards and look at the whole picture...without the NHS, without the free drugs, without the retrovirals...where would they all be? Up shit creek without a paddle...where are they now? Still up shit creek, having a ball...with a paddle. It's time to grow up boys...your shit has hit the fan.

The film is certainly revelatory...unpleasantly so. One bugbear, the explicit nudity...totally unnecessary and a detraction from the seriousness of the subject.

However, as an introduction to chemsex, it does its job. And, it does throw the doors wide open on a subject that demands more answers to the questions raised...

We await part 2...

The(ir) Blurb...

A powerful and unflinching exploration of a hidden health emergency in London's gay community. Chemsex is a feature-length documentary with extraordinary access to the secret world of 'chemsex' and 'slamming' parties - where intravenous drug use and unprotected sex is fuelling a huge rise in HIV infections and drug addiction in the capital.
