A trans woman finds herself trapped inside the van of a mysterious man whose intentions are not what they seem to be. It is carnival time. At a local club Zena, a trans woman, is having fun with some masked club-goers, when she accidentally falls and sprains her ankle. Unable to go on she kisses her friend Lucy goodbye and heads to her car. She enters a dark parking lot, where she encounters a mysterious man sitting in a van. He invites her in for a cigarette. What begins as a casual chit chat, quickly shifts. Zena hoping to avoid the danger she got herself into, tries to escape but the driver locks the doors of the van. Zena starts yelling and attacks the driver. Soon she will find out that what she got herself into is far more surprising than she ever imagined. Tsikitigklon, The Fairy And The Man, through its queer gaze, brings together elements of suspense, magic, and raw emotion while exploring themes of identity, vulnerability and self-acceptance. It suggests that people often feel that they have no other choice than to put on "masks", to reveal their true selves and desires. You don't put on a mask to hide yourself from the world, you put on a mask to reveal your true self. Tsikitigklon, The Fairy and The Man, is a story about the true self we hide and that the only way to remove the mask we all insist on-wearing, is through love and some magic. The film is based on real life events. Zena is a real person and this is her story. She appears in the film with the ending titles.
