Every now and then there comes along something truly special - and here it is - as near to movie perfection as you can possibly imagine - multi-layered, multi-faceted and thoroughly intelligent.
Hanson hasn't managed to replicate this kind of vision and success (although Wonder Boys is a fine film & 8 Mile definitely made some money).
Just sit back - marvel and enjoy.

1950's Los Angeles is the seedy backdrop for this intricate noir-ish tale of police corruption and Hollywood sleaze.
