Demons is a piece of Afro-Queer culture. Blending the worlds of the Lagos gays and that of the British diaspora, it takes an in-depth look at the cause and effects of homophobic attacks. We start our story at a police station in South London, where Bola, a black British Police officer, witnesses the brutal attack of a young black teenager. At the same time, Bola's boyfriend, Dotun, is attacked in Lagos. The injuries from Dotun's assault result in his death. Bola is distraught, and his grief soon turns to fury. He returns to Lagos where he vows to take revenge for his slain lover.
