Maya, a 40-year-old trans woman, returns to her hometown to see her mother Miryam, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s. The reunion puts his new identities into play in an environment that seems stopped in time. As they stroll along the riverbank, the village is moving desperately seeking an image of the Virgin that has been misplaced. The clash between the personal and the collective, between the intimate walk and the search for the sacred, will allow both to be recognized once again, right on the fragile threshold where memory emerges and transforms.
