Dressed in mismatched hand-me-downs and armed with a glove to mask her scars, Nune (pronounced NOON-NAY) Lusparian is doomed and troubled. Raised on welfare by two lesbian moms who don't believe in her potential and rejected by kids at school, Nune wishes her life was different. Nune escapes to a colorful interstellar world that's free of the pain of rejection. But reality hits hard when her daily passage through school feels like a 'walk down death row.' She's met by a klatch of privileged wannabe thugs eager to break her. Hunched over and often in tears, Nune drifts through Paradise High School struggling for invisibility. Her dark shadowy figure grabs the attention of a star athlete, Briana Enright, who's the arch-rival's girlfriend. Briana's clique wonders why a girl who has it all, would jeopardize her rank by sympathizing with the high school's ugly duckling. Then start the rumors that Briana might be gay.
