CGiii Comment

There is no gay content...not a whiff of Mr Dean's much-analysed sexuality.

Corbijn has delivered a highly polished product...with an aggravating irritant: Dane DeHaan's performance.

Dean, here, is a bore. A petulant prick...and, a hypocrite. Anyone who resists 'stardom' when actively seeking and chasing meaty Hollywood roles whilst playing cat and mouse with a Life photographer is - unequivocally - seeking stardom.

The story presented here is threadbare with well-trodden holes...unfortunately, Dean has been scrutinised and pulverised by pitiful interpretations of his short life...not one incarnation has been complimentary - this being no exception.

Dean died in 1955...he made 3 films. More films have been made about him than he made himself.

Hollywood has the ability to wring the very last cent out of their investments...this 'investment' has well and truly dried up.

Disappointing...and dour...but, it looks good!

The(ir) Blurb...

LIFE tells the story of photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) who convinced a rebellious young actor on the cusp of stardom, James Dean (Dane DeHaan) to allow him to shoot him for LIFE Magazine. The men take a trip from LA to Dean’s hometown of Fairmont, Indiana, via Times Square, New York so that Stock could, in his words, capture Dean in all the environments that had “affected and shaped the unique character.
