CGiii Comment

Featuring the real Stratis family in a truly original work of docu-drama, Could Be Worse! is the ultimate coming out story. It deals with its youngest son’s need to be open about his homosexuality as he questions the true meaning of marriage in light of his parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. Unique in its use of documentary footage, scripted drama and musical numbers, Could Be Worse! tenderly explores the feelings and emotions of each family member allowing them to experience their own “coming out.” This 90 -minute DVD is a creative, thought-provoking tool for promoting discussions related to LGBT issues, Women’s Studies, Marriage, Conflict Resolution, Family Psychology and Independent Filmmaking. Could Be Worse! is being used by colleges and universities as an entertaining resource to teach about human rights and tolerance and a resource for young adults who are dealing with their own personal coming out stories. It is suitable for all ages, intergenerational audiences, and PFLAG types of organizations that are seeking ways to bring families together.
