CGiii Comment

A film that has absolutely no idea what it is...and, by the end, neither does its head-scratching audience.

Part docu-drama, part slapstick...some of it is true, most of it is fantasy...all played out by a bunch of non-actors!

This has screened at a multitude of festivals, garnering accolades aplenty...presumably presented by anti-colonial, cross-dressing, climate change activists!

Jaya is a non-binary Filipino comedian who survived Super Typhoon Haiyan but lost their television career when the storm destroyed the studio where they hosted their local talk show. Asog follows Jaya on a road trip to a drag pageant, and along the way they encounter Filipinos enduring the impacts of climate change, including residents of Sicogon Island whose land was stolen in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.
