Not a particularly viewer-friendly film...

Chahine doesn't seem to know where he's going with this one...is it an autobiography? Is it a musical? Is it a solid piece of self-indulgence?

Definitely, all three - he seems to be enjoying himself - pity...his audience got up and walked out long before the end.
