CGiii Comment

The most outlandish portrayal is by Robert Morley as a gay critic in a pink suit - with two fluffy poodles - hugely funny - if you are not overly sensitive with grotesque stereotypes.

This is camp horror with more emphasis on the camp than the horror.

Hickox was an old school director - he simply lets the actors do what they do best - upstaging each other with blatant disregard for the audience, script or director.

Really, rather brilliant.

The(ir) Blurb...

Edward Lionheart (Vincent Price) stars as an actor overlooked for a critics' acting award, despite producing a season of Shakespeare plays. After confronting the Critics' Circle, an attempted suicidal dive into the Thames results in Lionheart being rescued by your typical paraffin/meths/turps swigging tramps. Lionheart then (presumed dead) exacts his grizzly, and quite amusing revenge on the critics who denied him his finest hour.
