Award-winning director Michael Waldman goes in search of the real Karl Lagerfeld, who was one of the most flamboyant and recognisable figures in fashion, but also one of the most mysterious. Waldman tracks down those closest to the designer, including his friends, neighbour, lawyer, doctor, bodyguard and Chanel colleagues. He also meets the agent and nanny left in charge of Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette, who he called the love of his life and who earned an estimated three million euros from modelling assignments.
