CGiii Comment
Virtue signalling, incel behaviour and social media addiction are among the targets of Oscar Boyson’s taut and increasingly unsettling satire – co-written by Uncut Gems and Good Time producer Rick Camilleri. The action is powered by strong performances by Jaeden Martell as Balthazar, a rich kid wannabe influencer, who is trying to impress a girl with gun control web posts, and Asa Butterfield, as Solomon, the online troll and trailer park kid Balthazar becomes obsessed with. Convinced Solomon is a potential mass shooter, Balthazar travels to Texas to confront him where the pair of loners strike up a strange relationship. Deadpan and disturbing.
