QueerCineMad
LesGaiCineMad
QueerCineMad, Madrid LGBTIAQ+ International Film Festival, formerly known as LesGaiCineMad, is running since 1996. With an estimated audience of more than 10,000 spectators, more than 100 films shown every year, press coverage, panels, Labs, Industry guests and filmmakers from all over the world attending, it is the most important festival in Madrid an a reference among LGBTIAQ+ Film Festivals in the Spanish Speaking Countries.
With different sections, for feature and short films, fiction, documentary and experimental, we have more than 50 screenings with Q&As when the filmmakers are attending. We have various events such as the presentation of the honorary and emerging talent awards, panel discussions, and our QueerCineLab, a workshop on queer filmmaking with an LGBTQ+ film project competition that includes activities and masterclasses for filmmakers and film students. We close the festival with the Closing Ceremony, where the awards for the best films presented at the festival are announced and presented, both those chosen by the jury and the audience.
