Formerly known as The Boston LGBT Film Festival...
Started in 2022, WQ: docs fills the need for a platform to share histories and celebrate the Queer documentary. WQ: Docs is committed to celebrating the documentary form in both short and feature length and we share the mission of our sister festival Wicked Queer.
Our mission is to build community and to celebrate Queer storytelling and filmmaking through the uplifting of voices and stories not yet heard and to present and preserve the vibrancy of our histories.

Friends of Dorothy: The Yellow Brick Code is a dazzling short film exploring the queer legacy of Oz, from L. Frank Baum’s book to the camp of the 1939 MGM classic and the world of Wicked. Featuring drag superstar Ginger Minj and author Gregory Maguire, it celebrates Judy Garland as a gay icon and Oz as a haven for LGBTQ+ fans. A spirited tribute to chosen family, fabulousness, and the enduring magic of Oz.
