Trans Stellar Film Festival

We are a film festival made by and for queer people! We seek films created by queer filmmakers, of any content, and provide a platform for exhibition of the very best. Please note: we accept films only from LGBTQ+ filmmakers.

In 2022, we will be continuing with a hybrid format, using both a virtual platform and an in-person festival. Our annual festival typically takes place in the Fall over 2 days at an independent theater in Detroit. We love to host you, the winning filmmakers, for Q&As with the public!

For the past 5 years, we have put together an incredible festival hosting films from across the globe, from world premieres to city favorites, we show a wide selection of films by queer artists like you.

Our Mission: Trans Stellar Film Festival encourages diversity and queer agency in art by promoting the exhibition of films created by queer people. We seek films by queer filmmakers with a variety of content and form and provide a platform for their exhibition to the public and industry professionals.
