CGiii Comment

It certainly has its moment...which could have been exploited more!

Edoardo Vitaletti is too tame...this is a wild tale with cruelty and love at its core, lines needed to be crossed. Because...the bible-bashers have been crossing the lines of decency for centuries...because, Gawd instructed them to be cruel. Jezus H. Christ, there are still people who believe in all this BS...and still, they spew their vitriol and hate.

What this film needed was more madness, anger, blood and light! As atmospheric as it is...it's a little too dark in places. More light and some variable depths of field would have helped the composition and momentum. Such a slow pace in horror is a thing of the past!

The 'revenge' scene is a scene that should have been milked for all it's worth...it's horrific, it's fantastic...but, it's too short. This was the money shot...unfortunately, it will leave you feeling somewhat short-changed! Short-lived agony is nowhere near as horrific as long-suffering, writhing-in-pain, blood-spurting agony actually is! Milk it!

For a first feature, there is much to admire...but, there are too many missed opportunities! Horror fans want horror...layered, thickly.
