Cinematography, lighting, editing...all exceptional.

The pace is fast...

Too furious with the gimmicks and not enough attention given to the actors who - mostly - deliver painfully melodramatic or (unsustainably) understated performances.

It's not a bad film - it just relies too much on its look (which is damn good) rather than the quality of both performance and story.
