CGiii Comment

It is as though no thought went into this - filming a bunch of old ladies reading poetry...totally pointless within this context.

There is a fascinating relationship between the [marvelous] mother and her transvestite son BUT the director fails to control their interactions and fails (disastrously) to structure her film.

The result: an unmitigated disaster that ends abruptly.

The(ir) Blurb...

Tea and cake, stilettos and gentle murmurs; old ladies in an Essex church welcome a towering transvestite into their midst. But families ask questions that polite old ladies do not dare; this is an observational film about courage, family and the cost of being happy.
