From running in the infamously homophobic Bermodsey by-election in 1983, to outing gay bishops as part of Outrage! in the '90s, to attempting not one but two citizens arrests of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, to call the life and career of veteran human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell colourful would be something of an understatement.
