Dismal.

By being so contrived, it comes over as an over-wrought melodrama with too many strands flapping uncontrollably around in the wind - without the hope of ever being tethered.

This is a masterclass on how a film falls apart in front of your eyes - way too big for its director and too complicated for its writers - stick to TV, the expectations are comfortably lower for your limited talents.
