To Decadence with Love, Thanks for Everything!

Meet Laveau Contraire and Franky Canga, a pair of vibrant Black queer drag/performance artists in New Orleans, as they will be your tour guides through the city’s signature six-day celebration of Southern Decadence. Hopping from gig to gig, Laveau and Franky offer insight into their nightlife/performance careers, sharing key lessons they learned the hard way as young queens starting out. While showcasing “The Big Easy” through its nearly-50-year queer tradition, To Decadence with Love, Thanks for Everything! centers on the BIPOC experience during this city’s wildest long weekend—where the beauty and strength of a community that lifts one another up shines its brightest.
