16-year-old Sebastian lives a sheltered life in a small town. When his family takes in Kolja, the 15-year-old son of a deceased friend of Sebastian's father, everything changes. Initially distant, the two boys slowly open up to each other and eventually discover they are closer than they thought. They are brothers.
Sebastian's world is turned upside down when he falls in love for the first time – with Kolja. Overwhelmed by their feelings, they keep their relationship a secret. When the truth about them is revealed, the family is cast out of the social fabric of the town and an emotional rollercoaster begins for everyone involved.
