After working as a webcam model in her native Colombia, Barbie, a transsexual diva fond of tattoos and the little mermaid Ariel, decides to go to Spain in search for a better life. Upon arrival she is confronted with the reality that even LGBTQ welcoming cities, prove to be hostile and challenging for her. Drifting from place to place, she is eventually left homeless and working as a prostitute in the underside of Barcelona. Over the course of five years, the director follows his friend and captures an intimate portrait that reveals the scars of discrimination and uprooting, but also the incredible strength of a woman struggling to find her place in the world.
