Zulema is a young transsexual looking for something different from sexual work. She seeks for a job in stores of Asuncion, but people reject her because of the way she looks. Thanks to her devotion to the Virgin Mary, she slightly touched the heart of Dona Conche, a fanatical Catholic laundress in search of an assistant. Dona Conche accepts her but she sets a hard rule, because before Zulema was Ramon.
